More About OMS
As a subsidiary of the Oquirrh Mountain Symphony, Crescendo! is a movement of social change that is created to inspire young people with the desire to learn and educate themselves in order to make a difference in not only their own lives, but the lives of others around them. Riding on the inspiration of El Sistema, “the most dynamic and transformative music education program in the world”, started by Dr. Jose Antonio Abreu in 1975, it hopes to continue the phenomenon that is now conducted with over 400,000 participants; the majority of whom live in poverty.
Crescendo! was founded in 2012 by Oquirrh Mountain Symphony and, with the support of the Crescendo! Stakeholders Network, is developing programs and funding to expand the program. The first site, or nucleo, will launch in June 2012 at American Preparatory Academy in West Valley City, Utah under the direction of David France, the first program director.Read More
